Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting. Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the disc which are hurled through the air at a speed simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

Match Dates:
Second Sunday and Fourth Saturday – April through November
All dates are weather permitting.

Practice Dates:
Saturdays that do not fall on a Trap Match date or on a Work Party date
All dates are weather permitting.

General Information:
Fee (per round): $5 for OPSC & Reciprocal Club member, $6 OPSC Member’s Guest, $0 for those under the age of 18.
Round Count: 25 shells per Round
Caliber: .410, 20, 16 and 12 Gauge
Allowable Shot Size: 7.5, 8 or 9
Registration: In person match day
Match Check-In: On match day anytime between 10:00AM and Noon
Match Start/End Time: Matches will begin around 10:00AM and go until those in attendance are done for the day
Range Rule: OPSC is a Cold Range. Eye & hearing protection to be worn at all times.

*Specific to trap shooting, OPSC has reciprocity with Naperville Sportsman’s Club and Newark Sportsmen’s Club.
